Music composed by Vincent Bourgeyx in May 2004, interpreted
by V.B. on the piano and Sebastian Jimenez on the double bass
and drums;
In November 2003, the Jean Vigo centre of Bordeaux gaveV.B.
the task of composing the music for the Alfred Hitchcock film
Blackmail of 1929
His work on this film gave him the idea of creating a new group
to play some of the themes inspired by this composition. This
project, named the Alice Project after the film’s heroine,
was created.
Atypical music, a mixture between classical, jazz and world,
resolutely turned towards the future, using the computer for
sound processing and for the use of loops.
For this music, Vincent is working in close collaboration
with Sebastien Jimenez, who has the role of arranger and director
of the project. He knows this music well, as he had already
played the drums and the double bass during the film show
which was at the origin of the project.
A first model done in May 2004 reveals the architecture of
the music as well as the different parts making up the work.
